§ 01 — Why we exist

In a world where fast food and ultra-processed products are gaining ground, our platform stands as a refuge for those who value authenticity, real flavor, and the satisfaction of preparing their own food from scratch. We do not seek to reinvent Spanish cuisine: we want to document it, explain it, and make it accessible to anyone who wants to turn on the stove.

Every recipe we publish goes through our kitchen before reaching yours. We measure times, adjust temperatures, test ingredients from different suppliers, and note what works and what doesn't. That trial-and-error routine is the foundation of everything you find at Sabor Maestro.

§ 02 — Who we are

A Team with Roots

Our editorial team is composed of professionals with decades of experience in the food and communication sector. We don't just handle theory: we spend much of our time testing ingredients and refining methods in the kitchen.

This combination of technical knowledge and practical passion is what allows us to offer high-quality content that really works in the home environment. We work with cooks who have worked in restaurants in Madrid, Valencia, and San Sebastian, and with editors who have spent years writing about gastronomy for Spanish publications.

When a recipe reaches the platform, it has already been cooked at least three times in our test kitchen, with ingredients bought in local markets and with equipment available to any home.

§ 03 — How we think about cooking

Our Gastronomic Philosophy

We believe in honest cooking. For us, gastronomy is not about unnecessary artifice, but about understanding how heat transforms food and how flavors complement each other.

We encourage the use of fresh, local ingredients, supporting local trade and the sustainability of the food system. Simplicity, executed with technique, is often the highest form of cooking.

A good gazpacho doesn't need ten complicated steps: it needs the right tomato, the right oil, and the precise resting time. Our job is to explain why those details matter.

§ 04 — Legacy and memory

Legacy Preservation

Spain possesses one of the richest culinary traditions in the world, the result of the intersection of diverse cultures over the centuries. At Sabor Maestro, we take very seriously the task of documenting traditional recipes that are at risk of being lost.

We interview local producers and rescue ancient methods to adapt them to the current context without losing their original essence. A recipe for Galician stew, a rice dish from the Levant, or a Castilian pot-au-feu has centuries of adjustments behind it; our job is to record them faithfully and make them reproducible in a modern kitchen.

§ 05 — What we publish and what we don't

Quality as a Standard

Each technical recipe published on our site goes through a rigorous validation process. We do not publish anything that we have not cooked ourselves several times to ensure that the instructions are clear and the result is as expected.

We move away from ephemeral trends to focus on what really adds value to the amateur cook: reliability and flavor. If a technique does not work in a home kitchen with standard equipment, we do not publish it.

§ 06 — Learning by cooking

Continuing Culinary Education

We see our platform as an open school. We don't just want people to cook, but to understand the 'why' behind things. Culinary education allows people to make better decisions about their diet and well-being.

Through our articles and guides, we seek to elevate the gastronomic criteria of our audience. We explain why onions are sautéed before adding rice, what happens when a broth reduces too much, or how oil temperature affects the final result of frying.

§ 07 — Responsible cooking

Sustainability and Future

We look to the future with the responsibility of promoting environmentally friendly eating habits. We encourage the full use of food, the reduction of waste at home, and knowledge of natural production cycles.

Good cooking is also responsible cooking that understands its impact on the planet. That is why we include suggestions in many recipes for using leftovers, preserving seasonal ingredients, and shopping according to the Spanish production calendar.

§ 08 — What we value

The Value of Experience

Cooking is a skill that is perfected over time. We value the learning process and celebrate the small successes of our users. We are not looking for the aesthetic perfection of a magazine photo, but the real satisfaction of a well-made, shared meal.

Sabor Maestro is the travel companion for those who decide to make cooking a central part of their life. A rice dish that turns out a bit soupy the first time, a bread that doesn't rise as expected, a sauce that breaks: it is all part of the learning process, and none of it is a failure.

What matters is turning the stove on again the next day, with a little more judgment and a little more confidence.

§ 09 — Transparency and trust

Our Commitment to the User

We strive to maintain an intuitive platform, free of distractions and focused on content. Transparency is fundamental in our relationship with readers; therefore, we always specify the origin of our information and the reasons behind our technical recommendations.

Your trust is the engine that drives us to continue researching and sharing the best of our cooking. If a recipe comes from a 1952 book, we cite it. If we learned a technique from a cook in a specific town, we say so. If we adjust a quantity compared to the original version, we explain why.
